Sue’s thrilled to impart her
fitness secrets
|
Sunshine Radio presenter John Hyde is placing himself in the hands of
Leominster’s new ‘Fit for Life’ enterprise.
Mr
Hyde, the voice behind Sunshine’s Breakfast Show, is to receive regular
advice on air from Sue Gardner, the founder of Fit for Life UK, which
has opened a brand new salon in South Street. “It’s all about empowering
people with knowledge,” says Sue, a farmer’s daughter from Leysters
whose is bringing Fit for Life to town, having run her business from
home for the past 10 years.
Starting on Friday, October 19, Sue will be offering advice on a regular
basis, helping John to lose weight and get fit. |

Each week
she will weigh John on air and then monitor his progress through a fitness and
weight management programme tailored for him.
“What I
like about my job is that I’m helping people,” says Sue. “People walk away
feeling happier.” She has an inspiring story of her own, having come through two
failed marriages. “I’ve brought up two children on my own but it hasn’t stopped
me with my work. I may have been unlucky with my marriages but I get on well
with both the fathers of my two children. I’m always very enthusiastic about
life, so I can show that there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
Sue knows
all about hard work, having milked cows on the farm at one time, and she became
a fitness instructor at the age of 32.
“I love
teaching and opening this business allows me to do the thing I love doing best,”
she says. Spending time with her children is also a top priority and she
combines a healthy and fit attitude with family life.
“I am very
rarely ill and live in a very unstressed household,” says Sue. And she has good
news for fitness hopefuls. “I still drink and party – and I still eat cake!”
Fit for
Life was officially opened last Thursday by Sunshine Radio’s newsreader Kirsty
Styles.
